Choosing diving gloves, socks and boots
Neoprene diving gloves
The Coral Camo gloves are 2.5 mm warm-water gloves with Amara palms and adjustable Velcro cuffs, in sizes M, XL and XXL. The Amara Camo gloves are 2 mm with Amara synthetic leather palms, Kevlar-reinforced fingertips and a Velcro strap, in M, L and XL. Both are made in Italy. Thin gloves keep feel on the trigger; thicker ones add warmth.
Cut-resistant work gloves
The Dura5 gloves use an HPPE and Dyneema knit with nitrile coating and a level 5 cut resistance rating. The HD version has a double nitrile coating. They suit cray fishing, handling spiny fish and working with line, and sizes are colour-coded.
Fin socks and boots
Rob Allen fin socks come in 1.5, 2, 3 and 5 mm and sizes XXS to XXXL, worn inside full-foot fins from Fins & Spares. The commercial boots are 5 mm neoprene with a heavy-duty YKK zip and moulded non-slip sole, for open-heel fins and work on deck.
